It occurred to me tonight just how far I’ve come in the last year.
It doesn’t seem like much sometimes with all the day in, day out. But to go from being terrified of whether I was going to make rent and watching my credit card bills rise steadily to drinking $200 a bottle Johnny Walker Blue in front of a brand new iMac . . . in less than 1 year . . .
That’s fucking impressive, I don’t care who you ask.
But the point of this post isn’t to brag, I’m still far from my own personal goals.
The point of this post is to remind you that sometimes the day to day shit gets in the way of realizing just how far you’ve come.
It’s easy to get caught up in the frustration of never being able to reach your final goal. But when you can step back occasionally and see that you’ve traveled a very long way in a very short time . . . it’s encouraging.
So I’ll drink my toast to you, my friends.
Stop and realize that while you might not be where you wish you could be, you aren’t where you were last week.
Cheers.
